Nambale Magnet School featured by icipe and IKEA Foundation!

We are thrilled to be featured by the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) in partnership with the IKEA Foundation, for our pioneering work in integrated Black Soldier Fly farming and vegetable push–pull technology — innovations transforming how schools can achieve food security, sustainability, and hands-on learning.

At Nambale Magnet School, our 10-acre mixed farm not only feeds over 800 children and staff daily but also serves as a training hub for local youth and women. Led by our Farm Manager, Esther Nafula, the project recycles over 20 tonnes of waste each month, produces organic fertilizer and animal feed, and has trained 300+ community membersin circular farming.

Through our collaboration with icipe, we’re proving that education and environmental innovation go hand in hand — empowering students, improving nutrition, and advancing climate-smart agriculture in Western Kenya.

👏 Thank you to icipe and the IKEA Foundation for spotlighting this story of transformation and partnership.
